Enrollment lottery.

As a DC public charter school, HU-MS² enrolls scholars through the citywide My School DC lottery for grades with more applicants than seats. Families apply through the My School DC common application during the annual application window — generally open in the winter for the following school year. Scholars already enrolled and their siblings typically receive preference under DC charter-school law.

How the lottery works

1. Submit a My School DC common application by the published deadline.
2. Preference categories (e.g., sibling, staff, in-boundary) are applied before the random lottery draw.
3. Families are notified of lottery results and offered available seats in rank order.
4. Waitlisted families may be offered seats as they become available throughout the year.
