50th Anniversary Celebration of Apollo 8 – Dec. 2, 2018, 1-4 p.m.

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 8 mission to the Moon. In December 1968, three NASA astronauts became the first humans to orbit another celestial body and captured the famous Earthrise photo. Learn all about this important mission, its crew and its spacecraft through detailed models; watch a recreation of the launch with a scale model of the Saturn V rocket; and listen to exciting presentations by Ernie Wright of Goddard’s Scientific Visualization Studio and Bill Boublitz of NARHAMS model rocket club.

This event will take place concurrently with the Sunday Model Rocket Launch.
